Essential requirements

  • An Italian ITS diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent qualification
  • English proficiency
  • Basic Python programming skills
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and statistics
  • Access to a personal computer running Linux

What is MDMC

The MDMC is a one-year advanced programme training the next generation of data professionals — combining scientific rigour with hands-on experience in real-world data environments.

Jointly organised by SISSA and Area Science Park in Trieste, the programme combines academic knowledge with practical experience in real-world data environments, with a strong emphasis on open science, FAIR data principles, and data stewardship.

An individual project consolidating all acquired skills, developed in collaboration with SISSA, Area Science Park, or an external partner organisation.
